What a difference a month (or so) makes!

Do you recognize that park bench? No? You've seen it before. Here:

Admittedly, the earlier shot was much taken from a much closer vantage. But I wanted to show just how much snow we got this winter. The whited-out area in front of the bench is actually a broad path, but on the day that Kane and I walked, it was hard slogging -- a real workout!

On a recent walk, it was raining and miserable.

We'd had a week of milder weather, but the edge of the river was still rimmed with ice.

Thicker in some spots than others. And -- look! -- I found where the ducks went!

Here's my earlier snapshot.

A different angle, again, but still pretty.

Honestly, even though I am sick to death of the snow, I prefer a sunny winter day to this cold, drizzly, yuckiness. I cut our walk short. Soon after we got home, I looked out the window and saw this:

My so-called evergreens from the planter on our front porch.
I'd been warned that snow was coming, but still . . . stop it, winter! STOP!

I can't tell you how ready I am to take pictures of green meadows and baby ducks.

  1. my front lawn has been under 2 feet of snow, bare, muddy, frosted, covered in snow again......and bare again ---- All in the span of one week. it's crazy.
I predict back to mud tomorrow.

    1. I know. I'm so tired of it all. But then, come August, I'll wonder why I was so impatient for spring.
