On May 11, my nephew married his longtime love. Aren't they gorgeous? It was a beautiful outdoor ceremony - and the sun came out just as they said their vows. Perfect? Yup.
The day before the wedding, my sister-in-law, my mother-in-law, my daughters and I gathered at the bride's mother's house to put together the various flower arrangements for the next day.
We started with a room full of yellow and white flowers.
We put together at least 20 arrangements, from small table-toppers to the ceremony urns. We were pretty pleased with the results!

The "star" pair of urns - to be on either side of the bride and groom. |
|
Even my bro-in-law got into the action.
This bouquet was to hang on the front door (which is why he appears to be holding it upside-down). |
We were all very excited on the actual day FINALLY arrived!

I can't imagine a bride being more beautiful. |
By the end of the evening, her cheeks were aching from smiling so much. She was the exact opposite of a bridezilla - clearly delighted with her choice in life and in sharing it with everyone who loves the two of them.
There were two adorable little guests: niece and nephew of the groom.

One of the littlest guests. He was beyond cute. |
|
Those dimples on her hand are just nom-able.
No wonder she has her hand to her mouth! |
|
For the groom's family picture, the bride wore a veil worn by generations of Sibbald brides. |
|
The proud family. |
|
Me and my girls |
|
Mother and step-father of the groom (doesn't he suit the bow tie?) |
|
Mother, grandmother, and grandfather of the groom. |
|
And, finally, me with my own groom. |
I love weddings.
